I shot my first wedding on October 10th, 2015. I didn’t make very much money off of it being that it was my older sisters wedding. It was probably one of the most stressful days of my life. I remember being so nervous and anxious for the wedding to happen. I did hours of hours of research, Youtube video after Youtube video, trying to soak up any knowledge I could about how to film a wedding. This was my first gig, and I did not want to blow it.
Flash forward to about 3 years later, rarely do I ever get nervous for a wedding. I have all the gear I could possibly want to film or photograph anything. I feel like I have come to a point where I have mastered the skill of documenting through photo and video. But up until this point in my business I have never offered wedding photography. For three years, if I’m being honest, it did not sound appealing to me. I have photographed 2 weddings as favors for friends, I kept it low-key. I loved being a videographer, for me, it felt like I was behind the scenes, the pressure was off.
Until a couple weeks ago, when I had an “aha moment”. I shot a reception for a friend and I fell in love with weddings all over again. I actually had so much fun. I loved being right in front of the action. On the dance floor, bumpin’ and grindin’ all while snapping photos. So from this point on I will now be offering wedding photography.
Here are some photos I took at a reception for some of my very best friends. Jack and Kenna Bangerter. I’m not going to lie, the dance party was very lit. I hope you enjoy as much as I did.
